Human Development Major
The Human Development Major consists of ten courses
1) One 100-level course on Introduction to Human Development
2) One 200 level qualitative inquiry course
3) Two 200-level courses from the list below
4) One 300-level course from the list below
5) One 100-level course: Introduction to Psychology
6) One quantitative/statistics course from the list below
7) Two additional 300-level courses from the list below
8) One 400-level course from the list below
Foundational Requirements
Both 100/200 level HMD courses must be completed
Note: HMD 201 can be substituted for double majors in psychology, PSY 202 Research Methods

Note: No Independent Study, Study Away, or PSY 202 course exceptions will be accepted for the Quantitative/Statistics requirement
Note: PSY 201--Psychological Statistics can be substituted for this requirement for PSY-HMD double majors only

Note: No more than one Study Away course will be accepted. (A course exception form must be completed).
One 400-level HMD course
NOTES: Majors can take HMD 103: Child Rights and Public Policy, an additional four-credit course. They can also take HMD 202 BEST PRACT & THE PRESCHOOL EXP, a two-credit course that involves supervised work at the Child Development Lab School during winter break.
