Sociology Major

Requirements

The major consists of at least ten courses, including:

SOC 101	SOCIETY AND YOU	4
	or
SOC 103	INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLOGY	4
SOC 325	FOUND/DEVELOP SOC THEORY	4
SOC 354	METH SOCIAL RESEARCH/ANALY	4

Students may take either SOC 101 or SOC 103 as an entry into the major and as the prerequisite for all other courses.

Of the seven remaining sociology courses:

1) no more than two may come from SOC 180, SOC 226, SOC 326;

2) at least four must be at the 200 level or higher;

3) and of the four 200-level or higher courses, at least one must be a 400-level course other than SOC 491, 492, 493, 494, 497, or 498.
