Human Development Major

Requirements

The major consists of at least eleven courses, including the following:

	or
HMD 321/AFR 321/CRE 321/GWS 321	CHILD/FAMIL MULTI-CUL SOC	4
	two additional HMD 300-level courses
	one HMD 400-level course
	or
PSY 100	INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY	4
HMD 250	BASIC APPLIED STATS ANALYSES	4
	or
STA 107	INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICS	4
	or

One of the following

HMD 240	CC: INTERGEN PLAY & LEARNING	4
HMD 255	HEALTH DISPARITIES AND AGING	4
HMD 260/AFR 261/CRE 260	SOCIAL & PERSONALITY DEVEL	4
	a first-year seminar taught by a faculty member in human development
	or
	an elective at or above the 200 level that is approved by the adviser

Students should complete BIO 105 or, STA 107 or STA 121, and HMD 201 by the end of the sophomore year. Students who are double majors in Human Development and Psychology may use PSY 201 to replace STA 107 or STA 121 in the major. Students who are double majors in Human Development and Anthropology, or Psychology, or Sociology may request that PSY 202, or SOC 354 be substituted for HMD 201.
