BIO 212 INTRO TO ECOLOGY AND EVOLUTION

The study of the fundamental principles and processes that occur at the ecological and evolutionary levels. Topics include energy flow, nutrient cycling, succession, population dynamics, biodiversity, interspecific interactions, the structure of natural communities, population genetics, natural selection, adaptation, coevolution, and the origin of species.

Notes

BIO 212 is equivalent to BIO 210, but without a laboratory component. Students majoring in Biological Sciences must choose one or the other. Students cannot receive credit for both courses.

Prerequisite

Students must have taken BIO 120, BOT 105, or BOT 115.
