BIO 211 INTRO TO CELLS AND MOLECULES

A study of biological processes and cellular structure. The course emphasizes current topics to explore fundamental structures and functions, including energy and information flow in animals, microbes, plants, and viruses; evolution of cellular and organismal structures; cell metabolism, division, differentiation, and signaling; and genomics and systems biology.

BIO 211 is equivalent to BIO 209, but without a laboratory component. Students majoring in Biological Sciences must choose one or the other. Students cannot receive credit for both courses.

Prerequisite

Students must have taken BIO 120, BOT 105, OR BOT 115
