Requirements

The major consists of at least nine courses in religious studies, including the following:

	or
REL 211	CHRISTIAN TRADITIONS	4
REL 212/ANT 205	HINDUISM, PEACE, AND CONFLICT	4
	or
REL 214/GIS 214	ISLAMIC TRADITIONS	4
	or
REL 215/EAS 224/HIS 224/PHI 213	CONFUCIAN TRADITIONS	4
	or
REL 216/EAS 278/HIS 278/PHI 214	DAOIST TRADITIONS	4
	or
REL 218/PHI 208	BUDDHIST TRADITIONS	4
REL 401	THEORIES OF RELIGION	4
REL 402	CAPSTONE SEMINAR	4
REL 493	ADVANCED STUDY SEMINAR	4
	or
	Two additional courses at the 300 or 400 level
	One elective chosen from any department with adviser approval

REL 401 Normally taken in the junior year

REL 402 taken after REL 401

With departmental permission, an appropriate first-year seminar may be counted toward the major.
