ITL 325 ITALIAN/GLOBAL NEOREALISM

Italian Neorealism (1943-1952) was a literary, cinematic and artistic movement that arose from the post WWII desire for ethical and social renewal through a raw depiction of reality. The course begins with a focus on Italian Neorealism in historical context; then it continues with an exploration of its influence on later works, especially films, both in Italy and other world locations.
