THE 326 THEATERMAKING: ADAPTATION
This course combines a deep investigation of acting and directing and the collaborative process of making theatrical performance. The course offers students a wide range of challenging opportunities to create theater from non-theatrical sources. Students will make theater by adapting poetry, children's literature, short stories, oral narrative, and even images. The course examines in practical terms the creative working relationship between actors, directors, dramaturges, and designers. Students will gain extended experience in collective creation and devising, use of space and visual imagery, story/character arc, and how to make bold and productive acting and directing choices in the rehearsal process.
