THE 325 THEATERMAKING:OPENING THE PLAY

An advanced course for actors, directors, and practitioners of any discipline of performance. Working in collaborative groups, students will rehearse and perform scenes from challenging contemporary and classic plays from USA and World dramatic literature. The course offers students a wide range of challenging roles and plays and also examines in practical terms the creative working relationship between actors and directors. Students will gain extended experience in character development and script analysis, as well as insights into the power of subtext, story/character arc, and how to make bold and productive acting and directing choices in the rehearsal process.

This course meets the Theater Capstone requirement for an advanced course in acting or directing. May be repeated for credit.

Registration Restrictions

Open to junior or senior theater majors or minors, and to others with permission of instructor.

Enrollment Limit
