LA 123 FINANCE CAREER PREPARATION
A semester-long course designed to provide students with foundational knowledge of accounting and finance, including a review of uncertainty and risk concepts and the time value of money. Students can apply these fundamental concepts to a potential career in finance or banking. Students will also learn how to utilize and articulate their liberal arts education to pursue a career in finance or banking, including: exploring various career paths in the field and industry; creating professional career tools (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile...); networking, interviewing, and more. Course highlights will include virtual visits from alumni established in different areas of finance. This class serves as the entry point to Career Action Funds.
Notes
This class is a 1 credit course, best for first-year students. This course will meet once a week for the entire semester.
Registration Restrictions
Limited to first-year and sophomores. Instructor permission required.
