HIS 135 THE INVENTION OF MINORITIES
One is not born a "minority," minorities are produced by the human power dynamics and cultural hierarchies in which peoples exist. This global history course introduces students to the events and processes that have created "minorities" in the era of the modern nation-state. The focus is on the interconnected minoritization of populations in Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S.
