FYS 1094 PARADOXES AND POSSIBILITIES
This course will explore how ideas from Computing and Game Theory can enable us to understand the world in interesting and unexpected ways. Tools from these domains will help show how our choices and behaviors are impacted by our connectedness to others. We will ponder paradoxes and investigate false assumptions we make in everyday settings that we often take for granted as being reasonable. From studying the world through the overlapping lenses of computer science and game theory, and using networks (aka "graphs") to model our interconnectedness, we understand the decisions we make in a new way, and become more informed citizens of the world.
