FYS 1093 RELIGIONS OF NEW LONDON

An investigation, suitable for students of all backgrounds, of the numerous religious traditions that have existed in and around present-day New London. Topics include the religious practices of the Mohegan and Pequot peoples; the multiple waves of Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox Christian immigrants; local Jewish and Muslim communities; and the role of religious groups in providing education and social services. Students will interact with representatives from a variety of local congregations and organizations.
