EDU 222 CC: ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
How can our time outdoors change our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the land we are engaging with? How can experiences in nature support social and environmental justice? What is the role of environmental education in the co-creation of a sustainable future? What does it mean to create an inclusive learning community? This course uses experiential and project-based learning to explore the pedagogy and practice of Critical Environmental Education focusing on sustainability, equity, and justice. Students will engage with a variety of texts, collaborate with community groups, design culturally relevant curricula, address issues of access, and develop a vision of Environmental Education as part of a sustainable future.
