AHI 230 ITALIAN RENAISSANCE ART

An introduction to the art, architecture, and material culture of Italy from 1300 to 1600. Using the era’s most celebrated art and artists as our lens, we will examine the Renaissance as both a revival of Greco-Roman antiquity and a break from previous artistic traditions, exploring the many historical, aesthetic, and ideological factors that shaped this period’s most iconic works.
