SPA 333B CONTEMP LATIN AMERICAN LIT
A study of major historical and cultural themes in the short fiction, poetry, novels, and essays by a broad range of authors. Students will explore questions of social, political and spiritual dimensions that shape Latin American societies through the works of Peri Rossi, Luisa Valenzuela, Juan Bosch, Juan Rulfo, and Rosario Ferré among others. Historical and theoretical readings provide a basis for analysis.
