SL 103 HURRICANES AND HOUSTON
The Houston-Galveston, Texas region has experienced multiple hurricanes including the most deadly natural disaster in the U.S. in 1900 and the second-most costly disaster in 2017. The course highlights the science of hurricane formation and the socioeconomic factors that determine vulnerability to associated hazards, and explores ethical issues related to community responses to these events.
