MAT 313 COMPUTATIONAL ALGEBRA

This course introduces the basics of polynomial systems, also known as ideals, and their solutions spaces, called algebraic varieties. Various algorithms for solving these systems via Grobner bases and Elimination Theory will be explored, with a view towards applications. No computational background is necessary, but a willingness to engage with a computer algebra system is essential.
