LA 113 PRE-HEALTH CAREER PREPARATION
A semester course designed to help students understand how to develop a strong individualized foundation for holistic review when applying to a health professions graduate program. Long-term course planning, study skills, time management, and workforce diversity topics are coupled with the pillars of career readiness success: professionalism, exploration, storytelling and networking. Students will increase their awareness of possibilities, practice reflection, and recognize, build and nurture their networks to develop the building blocks for personal and career success in a health-related or other profession. In recognition of the variety of methods for gaining medical and related experiences, completing this course provides access to Career Actions Funds.
Notes
In addition to weekly classes, students will be required to complete Career Studio and Academic Resource Center sessions/appointments to practice and refine concepts introduced in the classroom setting. Students may not receive credit for both this course and LA 103.
Registration Restrictions
Open to first-years and sophomores only.
