ENG 222C SHORT FORMS: FLASH FICTION

This creative writing course explores the art of brevity—the power and precision of short forms of writing. Through flash fiction, prose poetry, and concise literary nonfiction, it investigates how expansive worlds, emotional depth, and complex ideas can be conveyed in just a few hundred—or a few dozen—words. Weekly workshops will yield a portfolio of polished short works. Authors include Lydia Davis, Ross Gay, Claudia Rankine, and Ocean Vuong.
