BOT 240 ENVIRONMENTAL HORTICULTURE

This course will focus on learning woody plants in the cultivated landscape and the methods used to select, establish, and grow trees and shrubs in natural and urbanized environments. Topics include site assessment, soil science, ecological land management, ecosystem services, plant physiology, and plant collections in botanic gardens. Taught in studio format, the course meets twice per week for combined lecture and lab.

Students must have taken any one of the following courses: BOT 105, BOT 114, BOT 115, BOT 117, ES 110, or BIO 120.
