ART 218 CERAMIC SCULPT:OBJECT AS IDEA
Ceramic Sculpture: Object as Idea introduces students to thinking and working three dimensionally with clay. A primary goal of this course is to explore the physical, visual, and imaginative potentials that are possible with a tactile sculpture material. Students will be introduced to a variety of building, glazing, and firing techniques as they develop a deeper understanding of the geologic origins of clay and its importance as a primary medium of expression across cultures and throughout time. Class projects will encourage experimentation, skills, critical discussion, and developing a personal direction in the work.
