AHI 290 MATERIAL CULTURE STUDIES
An introduction to the field of material culture studies, focusing on the relationship between objects and people in early America. This course considers the cultural, political, and economic systems that fostered the consumer revolution in the 18th century. Topics include fashion, furnishings, and food, as themes of citizenship, race, and gender in the life of objects.
