PHI 153 CC: GREEN RESISTANCE
This course examines forms of environmental and climate activism that actively resist the status quo, including those that involve property destruction, vandalism, trespass, and other illegal activities. How are those actions represented in literature, film, poetry, and popular media? How does artistic and popular representation of such activism influence our perception of it? Should such actions be considered varieties of civil disobedience, or terrorism? What sorts of ethical and political arguments would weigh for or against these forms of activism?
