FYS 1091 BANNED! THEATER CENSORSHIP

Delving into the intersections of politics, culture, and artistic expression, students will critically examine the motivations behind censorship practices in American theater, their impacts on society, and the strategies employed by artists (past and present) to navigate and resist them. Through hands-on projects, exploration of legal frameworks, and conversations with professional theater artists, students explore the social and political power of performance to provoke thought and inspire change.
