FRH 440 TRANSNATIONALISM

Transnationalism in the Francophone World  This course engages the debates on race, gender, and identity issues in Francophone studies through a transnational perspective. Through the study of definitions of race, gender, and identity, and the ways in which writers and filmmakers challenge these definitions, the course examines boundaries between different regions (Europe, Africa, the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean). Students from different backgrounds will approach these topics from their own perspectives.
