CLA 112 TALES OF TROY
An examination of the mythic Trojan War in ancient Greek and Roman literature from the Archaic to the Imperial periods. The central theme is the significance of the Homeric epics (Iliad and Odyssey) to all later developments in Greek culture and literature (lyric, tragedy, comedy, history, philosophy and bucolic). Connections to ancient art, contemporary literature, and film are explored.
