ART 215 3D:SCAN/MODEL/ANIMATE/PRINT
An experimental, critical introduction to 3D modeling and animation moving back and forth between the digital and the physical, the flat and the immersive. The class employs a mix of tools and input/output technologies, from 3D scanning and Motion Capture to 3D printers and immersive media, including Augmented and Virtual Reality environments. Students will experiment with a wide range of styles, from the sculptural, painterly, and abstract to the architectural, movement-based, and cinematic. The courses touches on subject matter including the nature of simulation, computer generated fakes, and the science and ethics of immersive media.
Notes
Students may not receive credit for this course and ART 305.
