MUS 220G NEW MUSIC AND IMPROVISATION
This ensemble performs notated and improvised chamber music rooted in the style of 20th- and 21st-century western art music. Students will learn strategies for improvisation and will be exposed to music-making practices that span genres. There are frequent opportunities to interact with composers of new works. The ensemble is open to all instrumentalists and singers.

One semester-hour credit per semester (pass/not passed). For restrictions on the number of one-semester-hour courses that may be counted toward the degree, see the catalog. May be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite
Permission of the instructor is required.
Registration Restrictions
Open by audition; regular attendance and practicing required.
