HIS 477 CRAFTING GLOBAL NARRATIVES

This course explores theories and methodologies used in emerging fields of cultural study to interrogate the category of “global” narratives. Students will consider historical and literary scholarship on globalization and debate new concepts in world literature, global history, and postcolonial criticism. Themes include the role of empire, capitalism, and culture in shaping global encounters.
