GOV 493M PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
An examination of the historical development of the U.S. presidential primary system. The course considers contemporary campaign strategies, differences between the parties’ nominating processes, factions within parties, fundraising, the impact of sequential primaries, and how and why rules are changed.
Notes
This course is open to juniors and seniors, and to sophomores with permission of the instructor. This course cannot fulfill the requirement of a 400-level course for the Government major if taken in the sophomore year.
Enrollment Limit
Enrollment is limited to 16 students.
