ENG 358C POSTCOLONIAL LITERATURE TODAY
POSTCOLONIAL LITERATURE TODAY How is colonialism still an active force in literature and pop culture today? This class delves into many cornerstone texts of postcolonial theory and literature, focusing on the “current” in the course title. How does the act of colonizing—our bodies, our spaces, our minds, our language—still drive the texts and discourses of our everyday public sphere? Authors include Edward Said, Frantz Fanon, Gayatri Spivak, Laila Lalami, Marjane Satrapi, and Mohsin Hamid.
