BIO 210 ECOLOGY AND EVOLUTION
The study of the fundamental principles and processes that occur at the ecological and evolutionary levels. Topics include energy flow, nutrient cycling, succession, population dynamics, biodiversity, interspecific interactions, the structure of natural communities, population genetics, natural selection, adaptation, coevolution, and the origin of species. The laboratory will include investigative experiments, discussion of primary research articles, quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis, and communication skills.
Notes
Course will consist of one lecture section with two or more laboratory sections.
Prerequisite
BIO 120 (any course) or BOT 105; CHM 103 or CHM 107 (or concurrently)
Corequisite
Registration also required in
BIO 210L.
Enrollment Limit
Enrollment limited to 16 students per laboratory section.
