SPA 340 EL ESPAÑOL DE ESTADOS UNIDOS
Spanish speakers in the United States speak a variety of Spanish that is distinct from Latin America and Spain. This course examines the linguistic features of U.S. Spanish such as sounds, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as the contact between Spanish and English. The course also focuses on social factors and identity as they shape the Spanish spoken in the United States.
Prerequisite
SPA 207 or 209, or permission of the instructor.
