SPA 412 SPANISH PHONETICS/PHONOLOGY

A general introduction to Hispanic linguistics, focusing on the sound system of Spanish and how speech varies within and across dialectal regions. Concepts will be reinforced through exposure to authentic speech, application activities involving phonetic transcription and pronunciation practice, and a comprehensive group project.

Prerequisite

Any course at the 200 level in Hispanic Studies or permission of the instructor.
