FYS 109Y PERFORMANCE INNOVATORS
Passion and Practice: Performance Innovators What makes an artist an innovator and an agent of change? A performance visionary articulates new definitions and allows new narratives to circulate. The course studies 20th and 21st century performance and theater artists who use or have used their art-making as a point of departure and a disruption. Students will also write and make performances. Students do not need to have performance experience of any kind to succeed in this course. Students do need to value ambiguity, curiosity, humor, and play.
