EDU 355 CRITICAL SCIENCE EDUCATION

An introduction to critical race and feminist perspectives on science education. The course asks: what could justice-oriented science education be and how might we work towards it? Students will examine the goals of science education; privileged and marginalized conceptions of science and scientists; and experiences in science learning. Students will engage with tensions and contradictions that arise in imagining and designing science “for the people.”
