FYS 108V EXPLORING THE GREEKS

Exploring the Greeks, their Values and Monuments  Students will read a selection of Greek literature (including Homer, Pindar, Thucydides, Euripides, Plato, and Isocrates) and study Greece's major monuments (including the Acropolis, Epidaurus, Olympia, and Delphi) to explore ancient Greek values, and the Greeks' efforts in defining the human, justice, and one's relationship to home. The course will also encourage students to think about their own identity, their own values and their idea of home, especially while adjusting to life in college.
