ART 200B DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
An introductory photography course exploring the technical, historical, and theoretical underpinnings of contemporary digital photography. The course approaches the medium in its current complex and pluralistic states in order to explore a variety of photographic concepts and techniques. The camera itself is redefined in this course to account for everything from mobile phones, scanners, disposable cameras, and video cameras as equally legitimate tools for creating photographic images. Eclectic forms of output are encouraged in order to explore new methods of presentation. Assignments, lectures, readings, and discussions will consider different components of the photographic.
