Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Academic Standing and Promotion (for all students)
Students receiving benefits from the Veteran's Administration who do not maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as described in Academic Standing and Promotion will be withdrawn for at least one semester following the second Directed to Withdraw decision. If the student has been Directed to Withdraw for a second time in their academic career at the College, they are not eligible to appeal.
In accordance with federal regulations, all financial aid recipients are required to make satisfactory academic progress. This means that financial aid recipients must:
- Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and
- Accumulate a sufficient number of credits so as not to be more than eight credits (including transfer credits) behind the normal semester hours as described below.
- Institutional aid is limited to eight semesters for traditional undergraduates less for transfer students.
||Minimum Earned Credits Required at End of First Semester
||Minimum Earned Credits Required at End of Second Semester
A student's progress will be monitored at the end of each semester to determine eligibility for financial aid for the upcoming semester. A student who is more than 8 credits behind their entering class and/or has a cumulative GPA of less than 2.0 is not making satisfactory academic progress.
